History of Tovil
Tovil (Pronounced Tovvul), the village is now a suburb of Maidstone.
The architect John Whichcord Snr, who built Maidstone Corn Exchange in 1835, also built Tovil church, in 1840. Dedicated to Saint Stephen, it became redundant in 1978.
